Getting started
You'll have received a .zip file when you purchased Loden. To install it on your store:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Click Add theme > Upload zip file, and select the Loden zip you downloaded.
- Once it appears under Theme library, click Customize to preview it before publishing.
- When you're happy with your setup, click Publish to make it live.
Tip: keep your previous theme in the Theme library (don't delete it) until you're fully happy with Loden — you can switch back instantly if needed.
Customizing colors & fonts
Loden ships with a neutral default color scheme so it looks considered on any store from the moment you install it. A second, warmer scheme is included as an optional preset.
Color schemes
Go to Customize > Theme settings > Colors to switch between schemes or edit one to match your own brand. Each scheme controls backgrounds, text, buttons, and accents consistently across every page.
Heading font
Under Theme settings > Typography, you'll find a Heading font source toggle:
- Theme font — uses Loden's built-in serif display face.
- Shopify font library — lets you pick any font from Shopify's own library instead.
Body text always draws from Shopify's font library, so it stays consistent with the rest of your store's typography choices.
Sections overview
Loden's homepage, product, and collection pages are built entirely from drag-and-drop sections in Customize. Core sections include:
- Header & footer — navigation, search, cart, and store info.
- Homepage sections — hero banner, featured collection, rich text, image with text, and more, all reorderable.
- Collection page — filtering, sorting, and grid layout controls.
- Product page — gallery, variant picker, and add-to-cart behavior.
- Cart & checkout styling — matches your chosen color scheme automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — go to Theme settings > Logo to upload your own logo and favicon. No code changes needed.
No. Loden is built to Shopify's performance standards, with scripts loaded only when a section actually needs them, so your store stays fast as you add pages and products.
Loden follows Online Store 2.0 standards, so most apps that support OS 2.0 themes will integrate normally through app blocks.
